It's very hard for me, as a socialist, to write off Trump supporters as stupid, especially after many of them voted for Obama-even though they are backward and gullible.  But with millions of them now unemployed, it’s understandable that so many citee the "economy" as the reason they voted for Trump. After all, some of these voters are the poorest in the country. The majority aren't invested in the stock market and don't have 401ks.
